Due to Discord’s shadiness, Fallen Empire moved away from Discord over to Root. Root is a feature rich and growing alternative for Discord with a very similar look and feel without the bloat.

You will need to create an account and verify your email address with Root before joining the Fallen Empire community on Root. Instructions to join the community (server) can be found below.

Joining The Fallen Empire Root Community (Server)
Step by step instructions are as follows:
- Go to https://rootapp.com/download and download the application
- Alternatively, you can find Root on the Apple App Store and Google Play
- Once installed, open the app to create an account and username.
- After you have created your account, you will need to verify your email address with Root in order to access the Fallen Empire Root Community/Server.
- Note: Fallen Empire will never have access to your email address unless you explicitly give your email address to the Guild Officers
- Once you have verified your email, you will then go to: https://rootapp.gg/ACzxHnXkjgqW8aDCqBczag
- You will land in our Welcome channel. You will need to “@Council It is [in_game_main_toon_name]” to be assigned the proper role so you can have access to the full community/server.
- Example: @Council It’s Szy
- That’s it! Simple as that.
Our move away from Discord to Root
Making a very long story short, Fallen Empire has moved away from Discord and now uses the Root app.
After multiple third party data breaches that effected thousands of Discord users, along with Discord’s plans to implement the requirement of facial recognition or the submittal of a government issued ID in order to use the app in its full capacity, Fallen Empire made the decision in early February of 2026 to find an alternative.
While Discord has insisted that these requirements would not effect 90% of Discord users, Discord has been caught numerous times in lies that it presented to its users. (There are too many sources to link, just Google it and you can find dozens of reputable news reports about Discords dishonesty and backwalking.)
It should be noted that we are in no way affiliated with Root. Even so, we highly recommend the change. Root has been extremely communicative during their growth and have been very open to feedback with improvements and updates arriving daily.
Until Discord can rebuild shattered trust as well as deliver a guarantee that facial recognition or the submittal of a government issued ID will NEVER be required, Fallen Empire’s core communication outside of in game chat will remain with Root.
